As Malta enters July, the festivals and activities go into full force for the island’s busy summer season. Below is just a taste of what’s coming up in July:

 

  • 02-03 July: Mdina Medieval Festival

This two-day event is filled with re-enactments and pageantry, celebrating Malta’s medieval period from 1200 to 1500 AD. You will experience a medieval market, musical entertainment, Falconry and birds of prey, an interactive children’s area and of course delicious food and drink.

  • 03 July: Lewis Capaldi In Concert

Pop music icon, Lewis Capaldi, will be making his live debut and showcasing his multi-award-winning talent, at Malta’s iconic Fosos concert venue

  • 11-16 July: Malta Jazz Festival

This is another iconic festival that takes place every July, attracting many top world-class international renowned performers such as Wayne Shorter, Herbie Hancock and Michael Brecker and Brad Mehldau.

  • 13-17 July: Malta International Food Festival

This is the island’s most anticipated gourmet event, featuring cuisine from all around the world. The 5-day festival goes beyond eating and drinking to reveal what the food scene in Malta is all about: embracing local and seasonal produce, promoting its diverse culture, championing premium producers, indulging in a kaleidoscope of tastes, and being treated to an amazing night out in Valletta’s Tritoni Square.

  • 15-17 July: Malta Fashion Week 2022

The Malta Fashion Week and Awards has become a platform of a fashion events presented in the heart of Valletta. It is a showcase of Malta’s excellent fashion creations and designers.

  • 19-24 July: Malta Music Week, including the ever-popular Isle of MTV (on 19 July)

Held in July of every year, this week features various massive events with international artists at various night clubs, live street concerts and sunset boat parties.

The apex of the week is Europe’s biggest free summer music festival which is held at the iconic Il-Fosos Square Floriana just opposite the entrance door to the fortified capital city of Valletta.

  • 26 July: Joseph Calleja 25th Anniversary Concert

Joseph Calleja’s 25th anniversary concert will be hosted by opera legend Plácido Domingo on July 26 at the magnificent setting of Fort Manoel in Malta. The world-renowned tenor Joseph Calleja will be singing at his annual concert with the participation of international singers.
